NISSAN has unveiled a four-wheel drive concept which gives clues to how future 4x4s from the company will look.

The Dunehawk combines the ground clearance and off-road ability of a sport utility vehicle with the practicality of a people carrier and is equipped with the next generation of Nissan's ALL MODE four-wheel drive system first seen in the X-trail.

Next month it will display a fuel-cell X-trail prototype at the Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the Dunehawk, fresh from completing its road evaluation programme. It will form the basis of a fuel cell vehicle which will go into test production later this year.
