Rover 25 gets Streetwise

ROVER'S new Streetwise 'urban on-roader' is now in showrooms with special viewings organised for potential customers over the next few days.

Based on the Rover 25, it sports plastic body mouldings and has raised suspension for better visibility and increased ground clearance.

Although there are two individual seats in the rear, it retains a 60:40 split to extend luggage space, while the centre console runs the full length of the passenger compartment.

A 1.4-litre petrol engine with a choice of 83bhp or 102bhp outputs will be available, along with a 100bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel. Carbon dioxide emissions for the 1.4-litre are 174g/km while the diesel is rated at 159g/km. Prices range from £9,295 on-the-road for the three-door 1.4-litre Streetwise, while the five-door 2.0 TD SE is £12,795.
