LAND Rover has revealed the first pictures of the revised Freelander (below) which will make its public debut at next month's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Range Rover-style headlamps are the most obvious exterior changes, but the interior is also freshened up and Land Rover will add a Sport derivative with optimised on-road performance.

Current body styles (three-door hardback, three-door softback and five-door) and engines (1.8-litre, 2.5 V6 and 2.0 Td4) are carried over, while the Europe-only Sport model has 18-inch wheels and lower, firmer suspension settings for more responsive driving behaviour. The revised range goes on sale later in the year.
