PEUGEOT'S volume models are doing very well at resale in recent months and are bucking the trend which has seen the prices of competitors gradually falling.

According to British Car Auctions, the French firm has had a number of strong auctions, while Glass's reported that in July the value of Peugeot used vehicles remained largely unchanged while the market values typically dropped by 3%.

Closed Peugeot sales at BCA Nottingham, Blackbushe and Glasgow in July saw more than 800 cars offered with around 130 buyers attending in total.

Alan Gupwell, sales manager, manufacturer sales for BCA said that to sell that many cars in July, which is typically a quiet month, was a 'significant performance'. In total, 773 cars were sold at a 93% conversion rate with a turnover of £6.3 million. Across the board prices averaged more than 100% of CAP clean and more than 102% of Glass's Guide, BCA claimed.
