FORD'S new Focus C-MAX mini-MPV (pictured) will go on sale on October 18 with prices aimed squarely at the new Renault Scenic.

The entry-level car, the 99bhp 1.6-litre Studio, is priced at £13,175 on-the-road, although LX will be the starting point in the 109bhp 1.6 TDCi and 118bhp 1.8-litre petrol ranges, priced at £14,250 and £15,475 respectively. The range-topping 2.0 TDCi Ghia, boasting 134bhp, is priced at £18,375.

A Durashift CVT automatic will be offered with 1.6 TDCi models alongside the standard five-speed manual, while the 2.0 TDCi comes with a six-speed manual.

All models will include six airbags, ABS and air conditioning, while all but the 1.6 Studio will be available with the Comfort Seat System that turns the three-seat rear bench into two individual rear chairs with extra leg and elbow room.
