The latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • BEN, the motor industry charity, has appointed Carl Bayliss as commercial development manager. Bayliss rejoins BEN in this newly-created role after a period with the Money Advice Trust. Prior to working for BEN between 2000 and 2002, he spent more than 20 years in business banking. He is based in the charity's Midlands office.

  • VARDY Contract Motoring has appointed Christopher Crow as commercial manager. He was previously with First National when the company was acquired by Lloyds TSB. His experience also covers working as general manager with Lex Vehicle Leasing. His new responsibilities include manufacturer negotiations, purchasing and maintenance control as well as developing future projects.

  • NEWPORT-based LDV main dealer, Commercial Motors, has appointed Phil Eveleigh as sales manager. Before that he spent three years as sales executive with Sinclair Garages, a local Volkswagen dealership. He now takes responsibility for running the sales department and overseeing vehicle purchases. He reports to dealer principal, Steve Rees.

  • JOHN Tutt has moved to RAC Auto Windscreens as operations director. He was previously with the company's breakdown division, RAC Motoring Services, where he was head of southern operations for three years. In his new role Tutt's main responsibilities include maximising the company's operational efficiency and maintaining its nationwide fitting service. He will also assist recently- appointed managing director Bill Duffy in further integrating the business within RAC plc.

  • AUTOGLASS has announced its Top Employees of the Year. Frank Sprott, regional manager, Simon King, branch manager and Steve Murphy contact centre manager, all won awards that were set up to reward managers for their performance over three key areas; staff satisfaction, customer satisfaction and business results.

  • LOUISE Vaughan has been appointed PR manager for the Dixon and jamjar cars brands. Her new role is one of several changes at Dixon's marketing department following Helen Makin's promotion to communications director. Vaughan was previously national PR manager for law firm Addleshaw Goddard.
