A UK accident management company has secured a contract to support the maintenance team working on Southern Water's 1,100 fleet of cars and vans.

AMC Accident Management, which is part of the FMG Group, fought off competition from other industry groups to win the contract to manage accident damage across the fleet.

Harvey Stead, AMC's sales director, said: 'We have been developing our technology and systems to offer analysis on a regular basis to identify all available cost savings. Fleets are discovering how effective this can be in helping to review and shape policy.'

AMC will provide Southern Water with an online reporting tool which will enable the utility group to view accident damage via online digital images. A text messaging service will also allow vehicle repair updates to be sent directly to drivers' mobile phones.
