MAINTAINING high customer service levels and long-term profitability for its licensees is Thrifty Car Rental's main priority for 2004.

Robert Burton, the group's managing director, outlined Thrifty's key goals at its recent annual convention which was attended by licensees, manufacturers, dealers, staff, suppliers and business customers.

Andrew Burton, sales and marketing director at Thrifty, said: 'While we have been celebrating years of success, it is important for us to look forward and we believe that 2004 will be another good year. Our management structure is fundamental to our success and we believe we now have the team in place and the passion to move into the fast lane.'

The Coventry-based convention also saw licensees and staff awarded for their contribution to Thrifty.

Rent 21 scooped the rental firm's Fleet Award 2003 with Forshaw Car Rental winning the Best Supplier to National Accounts 2003.
