Ice shield

ICE Shield is an alternative for drivers not wanting to use the traditional means of de-icer or a window scraper. The product is applied to the vehicle's windscreen with a soft cloth, ideally before the cold weather begins.
It forms a non-stick coating which prevents ice from sticking to the glass and although drivers need to reapply Ice Shield once a month, the product manufacturers claim a 2oz bottle of Ice Shield will protect two cars all winter.

Ombrello applicator

THE Ombrello applicator pad contains enough fluid to cover an average vehicle's windscreen plus front side windows and the rear screen. Once applied to the vehicle's outer glass, the liquid coats the glass and acts as a rain repellent, dispelling rain and road dirt which improves visibility according to Ombrello.
The applicator is activated by pressing together the two sides of the pad, releasing the liquid which is then applied to the windscreen.
Ombrello claims that it is virtually impossible for water to remain on the screen at speeds of more than 35mph without windscreen wipers.

Prioritystart

PRIORITYStart aims to combat the problem of flat batteries using a device which automatically disconnects the battery, if the voltage falls below a set level for more than one minute.
The unit works by monitoring battery voltage and automatically isolating supply. When the driver wants to restart the engine, Prioritystart automatically reconnects the battery when the driver attempts to operate electrical equipment.
The device contains a microchip which can be used with all battery terminal configurations and can be fitted within a few minutes. Two models are available to fit 12-volt and 24-volt systems. The device can also be used with engines up to 7.0-litres.

Serenco jump systems

THE Megaboost MB510 and the MB800 jump-start units from Serenco are both portable and are supplied with 1.8-metres of cabling. Contained in unbreakable polyethylene casing the units also include insulated clamps, reverse polarity warning, automatic charging capability and isolator switch. The units are surge-protected and can operate in temperatures of -20C to +40C.
Increased power on the MB510 means the unit can jump start a greater range of vehicles according to Serenco with the unit being adaptable to both petrol and diesel engines.
The units can be used on the majority of fleet vehicles from small cars to large 24-volt vehicles.

Ultra shield

ULTRASHIELD'S car paint and fabric protection kit includes paint shield, fabric shield, speed glaze and shampoo. Paint shield provides a transparent film which bonds to the vehicle's paintwork, protecting it against adverse weather conditions. The speed glaze should be applied twice a year, it is similar to a polish and acts as a paint restorer. The kit protects vehicles against winter elements including road salt, acid rain and oxidation. It also protects against against fading, ultraviolet rays, pollution, tree sap and bird droppings according to Ultrashield.
The kit ideally needs to be applied by dealerships or valeters and carries a seven-year guarantee when professionally applied.
