The latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • DAVID Callery has joined newly- formed Leyland Auto as managing director, where he will head up the new venture alongside a senior management team. The new team also includes finance director David Drysdale, sales director Chris Waine, operations director Graham Abbotts, IT manager Tina Norman and technical manager Peter Clarke.
    Callery previously held the role as managing director for support services group FSG and joined Leyland Auto after the company acquired the assets of Leyland Auto Electrical & Diesel.

  • MARSHALL LDV has recruited two new staff members in a bid to cope with the company's expansion. John Hawkins has joined as new van sales specialist and Ian Bunker is the new area representative.
    Hawkins, formerly sales manager at Nissan Light Commercial Vehicles, will be responsible for new and used LDV van sales, updating the customer base and generating new business.
    Bunker joins from Brian Currie LDV, where he worked as sales manager. He will be responsible for generating fleet orders.

  • THE Farnell Group has appointed Jatinder Aujla as Land Rover franchise manager. Aujla has several years' experience in the motor industry and has a degree in automotive engineering. He formerly worked as dealer principal at Farnell Land Rover in Guiseley and will be based at the group's Bradford dealership. Simon Cook replaces Aujla as dealer principal at the Guiseley branch. Cook joins after working for major motor dealers in the north east and Scotland.

  • BRIAN Sneyd, managing director of Lex FleetServe, has been appointed as president for the Chartered Institute of Marketing's Lancashire branch. Sneyd brings several years' experience to the role. He is also currently fellow of the Chartered Institute of Transport and a chartered fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport. Sneyd was appointed president at an event held at Lex Auto Logistics last month.

  • MOTORWAY services group Roadchef has appointed Chris Proud as its new head of marketing. Proud will co-ordinate and manage all marketing roles and will be responsible for promoting customer service standards. Prior to Roadchef, Proud ran his own freelance marketing consultancy. He has also completed several marketing roles in the hospitality, manufacturing, education and publishing industries.

  • James Read has been appointed manager, fleet sales, for Ford of Britain, replacing Andy Welton, who has left the company. Also, David Butcher has been appointed manager, direct and municipal sales for Ford of Britain, replacing Russ Tilley. Tilley has also left Ford.

  • ABS Bodyshop Services has expanded its call centre at Northwich in Cheshire with the addition of five extra staff.
