OIL company Total UK has chosen its new fleet supplier on the basis of the online services it can offer.

The whole of the Total group has signed a new contract hire deal, which will see 1,200 petrol and diesel vehicles supplied on a four-year, 75,000-mile replacement cycle, with ALD Automotive. The oil group’s human resources and strategic purchasing departments conducted a joint review of its fleet requirements and ALD Automotive’s internet-based services were crucial in it winning the contract.

Julian Power, HR sourcing manager, Total UK said: ‘The introduction of online fleet solutions will significantly improve our business efficiency and allow our drivers and fleet decision-makers instant access to information.’

The fleet consists of cars for sales and some technical staff, plus vehicles for area and regional managers. They have a choice of Toyota, Renault, Nissan and PSA Group vehicles. Employees also choose cars on a personal contract purchase basis within the restricted badge agreement.
