Volkswagen unveils Golf Plus

VOLKSWAGEN has unveiled the latest addition to the Golf family, which will go on sale next year.

Fitting in the range between the Golf and Touran, it fills the same basic footprint as the Golf, but is 95mm taller and offers more interior space. The rear seats can be slid 160mm and the seat cushions lower as the seat backs are folded, creating more storage space.

A two-layer floor in the boot also allows up to 505 litres of luggage space with the rear seats in place and the Golf Plus uses LED technology in the rear lights as well as the option of cornering headlamps.

The car, which will go on sale in the UK next summer, will only be sold as a five-door model and there will be no GTI version.
