THRIFTY Car Rental has awarded a 2,500-vehicle deal to Renault in a deal worth more than £35 million at showroom prices.

Renault will become Thrifty's core supplier following the deal, which is Thrifty's largest to date and means 25% of Thrifty's fleet in 2004 will be supplied by Renault.

Jonathan Darke, national rental manager at Renault UK, said: 'Safety for Thrifty's customers was a top priority and this is reflected by four of the Renault cars being supplied scoring five stars in the EuroNCAP crash tests.'
