PEUGEOT has developed a specialist vehicle for scene- of-crime officers in the police force.

The Peugeot Special Vehicle Operations (PSVO) unit has modified vans based on the Peugeot Partner with specialist racking, mobile storage units and additional compartments. The specification was determined by forensic specialists.

PSVO general manager Martin Colonise said: 'Working with the police has allowed us to demonstrate the versatility of our vans and shown how racking and other equipment can be fitted to ensure working at a crime scene is more efficient.

'We ensure that everything is laid out logically and that any new fixtures are sufficiently sturdy to withstand heavy use. The Partner van is particularly suited to this.'

Modifications to the exterior and lining of the Partner have been minimised to retain residual values.
