REG Vardy has signed an exclusive deal with British Car Auctions (BCA).

THE affiliation will see BCA remarket more than 150,000 non-retail part exchange vehicles in the next three years and makes it one of the largest UK remarketing deals signed to date.

The vehicles will be sourced from Reg Vardy dealerships and Reg Vardy Contract Motoring. Steve Ferry, operations director at Reg Vardy, said: 'We have worked with BCA over a number of years to remarket our non-retail stock. This new agreement builds on the partnership between the two companies and with BCA's national network and marketing expertise, it means our dealerships can remarket their stock swiftly.'

The vehicles will be sold through a programme of sales at BCA's auction centres including Derby, Edinburgh, Nottingham and Walsall.

BCA's dealer services department will provide an account management service for Reg Vardy, with the group also completing promotional material, advertising, and e-marketing services to maximise sales of the stock.

Mark Hankey, director of sales at BCA, said: 'We are delighted to be given the opportunity to remarket such significant volumes direct from the Reg Vardy Group. This announcement underlines BCA's remarketing expertise and the power of auction to deal with large volumes of vehicles swiftly and efficiently.'

BCA has also agreed to provide an auction remarketing consultancy programme for Reg Vardy's general managers and sales managers. The programme will cover vehicle valuation, appraisal and effective use of auction.

Vardy Group Fleet announced last year that it had brought expansion plans forward and was planning to double its sales force.

The move to gain a larger slice of the fleet market was part of a wider strategy developed by Reg Vardy.

Vardy Group Fleet announced it would work independently of, but be complementary to, Vardy Contract Motoring, the contract hire and leasing division. (Fleet NewsNet, August 14 2003).
