Prestige marques and convertibles popular

THE popularity of prestige marques and convertibles is not wavering, according to Manheim, with sales still achieving strong conversions.

Manheim Wimbledon's latest prestige and convertible sale saw more than 100 vehicles go under the hammer, with many achieving above CAP Clean.

Marques such as Porsche, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Audi and Lexus featured in the sale, with one X-registration BMW Z3 with 63,000 miles fetching £20,000, £8,100 above CAP Clean.

Simon Wells, general manager at Manheim Auctions Wimbledon, said: 'Buyers have already got their eye on summer, so soft-tops generated a great deal of interest. Soft-tops are still good value but as the weather improves, demand and prices will increase.'

Prices achieved at the sale included a 51/01 BMW X5 Sport (41,000 miles) for £31,000, a W/00 Mercedes SLK 230 Kompressor (58,000 miles) for £15,350 and a 51/01 registration Porsche 911 Carrera 4 (28,000 miles) for £44,250.
