Rare Genie to go under hammer

THE Gilbern Genie, a rare Welsh-built car, will be on sale at BCA's next classic and historic sale on April 19.

It was first shown at the 1966 Earls Court Motor Show and is the first in its series with a chassis number of 1001. It has been fully restored but has a number of original features, including twin fuel tanks and the original colour scheme.

Complete with V5 documentation, recently renewed MOT certificate and current road fund licence, the Genie is expected to fetch about £6,000 at the Bridgewater sale.

More than 60 vehicles will be on sale at the auction, alongside automobilia including prints, literature and parts.
