A REPORT published by the Department for Transport has shown that more than two thirds of employees are not given the option to work from home.

The National Travel Survey: 2002 also showed that 71% of people travel to work in private vehicles.

Results from the survey show the importance of the UK road network, according to the Road Users' Alliance (RUA).

Tim Green, director at the RUA, said: 'Clearly this shows that road investment is crucial to British business. Not only do businesses rely on the road network for supply and distribution, but for the basic need of employees to get to the workplace.'
