A TROPICAL plant company has introduced a vehicle tracking system on some of its fleet in a bid to slash fuel costs and downtime.

Deedman installed 2020's Sentinel Live system initially on three of its vehicles, enabling them to be tracked online.

Drivers will also be able to access traffic information, activate vehicle immobilisation systems and produce tracking reports through the system.

Butch Deedman, director of the company, said: 'We are always looking for ways to improve operational efficiency. Sentinel Live has enabled us to streamline our business.

'We can now plan our drivers' routes more efficiently, thereby saving on fuel and cutting down on lost time.

Ultimately, this will benefit not only our bottom line but also that of our customers, as cost savings will be filtered down to clients.'
