A BOOM in demand for valeting end-of-life vehicles before they are auctioned has prompted Manheim Auctions to appoint PJM Valeting as primary supplier at 12 of its 18 UK sites.

It has signed a three-year contract with the company, which will carry out about one million valets for Manheim during that period.

The move will allow Manheim to extend its range of valeting services to fleets.

Manheim's director of automotive services David Mercer said: 'Manheim and PJM have had a strong working relationship for many years and we will continue to produce a consistently high level of valeting standards, as well as developing an innovative range of new products for our fleet, manufacturer and dealer vendors.'

Commenting on the contract win, PJM managing director Paul Moore said: 'This is a fantastic opportunity for us and we are delighted to be working with the largest vehicle auction company in the world.

'In the coming year we plan to be launching new products and services that will complement the current auction program and provide customers with new valet options to maximise residual values'.
