THE AA has taken delivery of a fleet of smart cars as part of a new campaign by the breakdown recovery group.

In the event of a breakdown where the car cannot be repaired by the roadside, AA members could be offered one of 180 specially AA-branded smarts located around the country.

Alternatively they will have the choice of another similar-sized car with the opportunity to upgrade to a larger vehicle if required.

The new AA Onward service promises to 'fix your car by the road or get you another one'.
