VAN fleet operators now have a new online source for industry news. Fleet Van, the sister title to Fleet News, now has its own website, at www.fleetvan.net. You can also access it by clicking on the LCV News link on the FNN homepage.

It has been designed to be a mirror site of the print title and enhance the accessibility of news and information to the LCV operator.

The launch of the new website coincides with Fleet Van's distribution to the entire Fleet News readership, which begins with the July 22 issue. FleetVan.net provides the latest news and roadtests – including pictures – plus a section dedicated to the news in the used market.

The content of the site will be updated throughout the week by the Fleet News editorial team.

Demonstrating the importance of news to the site, the home page lists all the latest stories, showing the headline and abstract. Click on the headline or the 'read more' button to see the full article.

A link at the bottom of the home page allows users to access the hundreds of articles on the site.

The archive of articles can also be researched through the Search and Advanced Search functions. Advanced Search allows users to look up topics by date range.

Access to the road test and used market sections of the site is made through links at the top of each page. Each section replicates the content of previous issues of Fleet Van.

FleetVan.net also provides a link to You can also access FleetVan.Net through Fleet NewsNet. Just click on 'LCV News' in the lefthand menu.

Future developments of FleetVan.Net will see the inclusion of LCV running costs, offering a wider range of data than is available in Fleet Van.

The archive will soon be enhanced too, providing a greater range of stories.

Fleet Van goes whole hog...

FLEET News readers will find a new free bi-monthly supplement in next week's issue – Fleet Van, the UK's most vibrant title for the light commercial vehicle sector.

Until now Fleet Van has been sent to selected readers on the Fleet News database, but the topics covered are of such broad fleet interest that it has been decided to extend the magazine to cover everyone for this issue.

Fleet Van is packed with practical advice for van fleet operators and is presented in a bright, breezy format that will entertain as well as educate. Editor Trevor Gelken commented: 'I'm pleased to welcome all the readers of Fleet News to the vibrant world of vans. Even fleet decision-makers who don't run vans will find something of interest here.'

Fleet Van contains tables of pence-per-mile running costs for hundreds of models, so operators can compare models on a like-for-like basis before deciding which ones to buy. It is the only magazine on the market to offer these figures in such depth.

The July/August issue features road tests on the new Jeep Cherokee Pioneer, the new Isuzu Rodeo Denver and the Vauxhall Vivaro Sportive, while features include a back-to-basics guide on selecting the right fleet software package.
