A DUTCH-based claims company has revealed plans to become a key player in the UK fleet industry following its acquisition of Aon Motor Accident Management (AMAM).

Nobilas Claims & Fleet Solutions, a new subsidiary of healthcare and chemicals company Akzo Nobel, is hoping to become one of the leading claims management groups in the UK.

Akzo Nobel board member Rudy van der Meer said: 'The decision to establish Nobilas as a separate business unit was always designed with rapid growth in mind and this acquisition will not only establish Nobilas as a top three player in the UK, but will also help further grow the business in Europe.'

Nobilas has contracts with fleets including Daimler Chrysler Services Fleet Management, Avis Rent A Car and LeasePlan. It also offers services to a range of other fleets, insurers, leasing companies and rental groups.

Cor de Grauw, general manager at Nobilas, said: 'The existing expertise and market position of AMAM in the corporate fleet sector will now provide us with an excellent opportunity to develop the business to its maximum potential.'
