FLEETS and their drivers are being urged to ensure they search widely for the best advice to help them cope in the increasingly complex environment in which company cars and vans operate.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association has said knowledge is power when it comes to making the right choices for fleets and their drivers.

John Lewis, director general of the BVRLA said: ‘In the modern, constantly changing, fiscal environment, it is essential that fleet operators and their drivers seek the correct advice.

‘I wouldn’t expect fleets to necessarily know the best options for their company. It is a complicated area not only in the type of service required but also for accounting and tax implications.

‘BVRLA members will, as they have to date, continue to ensure that they have available a selection of products and services to enable fleets to operate safe, well managed vehicles through the appropriate financial structure.’
