Thrifty Car Rental UK boosts van fleet

The agreements between Thrifty Car Rental UK and its key commercial vehicle suppliers of Ford, Mercedes, VW, Renault and Peugeot will see an increase across all model types, but predominantly in the LWB high roof sector.

John Ryan, Thrifty Car Rental UK fleet director, said: ‘The demand for new vans has been very strong this year, driven by strong customer demand in both the retail and business sectors. Thrifty Car Rental branches are updating and increasing their fleets in response to this. We have also seen a large rise in our minibus fleet.’

The current Thrifty commercial fleet includes the Ford Connect and Transit, the Mercedes Vito and Sprinter, the VW Caddy, Transporter and LT, the Renault Kangoo, Trafic and Master and the Peugeot Partner and Expert. The increased vehicle fleet will mainly be from the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and VW LT35 ranges.

‘All Dollar Thrifty Rental locations across the UK offer a wide range of commercial vehicles. The commercial vehicle rental market is highly competitive and these extra vehicles will complement our existing comprehensive fleet range. This is an important factor in making sure that we maintain our position as a supplier of high-quality, reliable and popular vehicles,’ said Ryan.
