THE latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • FLEET driver training company Ultimate Car Control has appointed Liz Jones as operations manager. Jones was formerly operations manager at DriveTech UK and has eight years’ management experience in the driver training sector. In her new role Jones will work on the fleet training programme, helping to deliver training solutions for the group.

  • STEVE Martin has been promoted to head of sales at Northgate and will be responsible for the Midlands region. Martin joined Northgate in December 2003. Prior to joining the group he had similar roles in and around the Midlands for TLS and Newtown.
  • GIL Kelly has joined Lex Vehicle Leasing as director, sales and marketing of its introducer business Lex Vehicle Partners. Kelly has spent the past three years as a director at Chubb. Before that he was Lex Vehicle Leasing’s general manager of vehicle sales and daily rental.

  • Contract hire and rental provider Fraikin has appointed Keith Link to the newly-created position of director of outsourcing, reporting directly to John Ball, chairman and managing director. Link has several years’ experience, including 14 years working with Lex Transfleet, most recently as head of supplier development. In his new role, he will be responsible for all elements of Fraikin’s business that are outsourced, including overseeing the company’s Leeds office. He will also manage the company’s contracts with external suppliers.

  • DRIVER training group DriveTech has appointed three new business development directors. Matt Rapier joins from West Country Publications, Neil Saunders from Deep Blue International and Debbie Singleton from Hertz UK. Martine Sable also joins the company as client support manager. She has several years’ experience gained with blue chip companies in the computer industry. In her new role she will work closely with the sales and training departments.

  • JOHN Price has joined Remploy Automotive as general manager. Price has 20 years’ experience in the automotive, electrical and manufacturing sectors. Price joined Rover Cars in 1984 as a graduate trainee, moving on to become production planning manager. He has also worked at Cooper Bussmann and GE Druck, where he was group operations director. In his new role, he will be responsible for Remploy Automotive’s six sites and for the company’s expansion programme.
