1link expands into vehicle disposals

IT logistics provider epyx has launched a new product aimed at the alternative disposal of fleet vehicles.

Trading under the 1link brand, which also includes products for acquisition and servicing, 1link Disposal Network will offer fleets the chance to remarket vehicles through an online system. The network will sell cars in similar fashion to Manheim Auction’s strategic disposals arm VRS Remarketing.

1link Disposal Network is based on the Smart Remarkit business epyx bought in May, but the firm hopes to develop the product alongside its other systems, 1link Vehicle Network and 1link Service Network, which are used by the majority of the UK’s motor manufacturers and leasing companies.

The firm believes that the launch of the disposal arm will give customers IT solutions from buying a car to running it and on to selling it.

Richard Sangster, product manager, 1link Disposal Network, said: ‘Smart Remarkit is a web-based remarketing tool that enables dealers to search, locate and purchase stock. It alerts buyers when cars they are looking for are posted onto the site while enabling vendors such as leasing companies to control and administer stock for sale online.

‘As we develop it into 1link Disposal Network, we plan to add a whole range of disposal-related services such as collection, refurbishment and links into disposal routes such as auctions.’
