  • EUROP Assistance has appointed Trevor Chrismas as finance director. Chrismas has held senior roles in subsidiaries of some large financial institutions, including 10 years as finance director at American International Group. He will be responsible for the management of the finance department for Europ Assistance Insurance Limited and Europ Assistance Holdings, and for regional controller functions for the UK, Ireland, USA, Scandinavia and South Africa.

  • STAPLETONS Tyre Services has appointed a new commercial and agricultural regional manager. Steve Giles was previously general manager at Uttoxeter-based Olympic Tyres for nine years, and before that spent 16 years at JCB. Giles will be responsible for developing and expanding the commercial and agricultural market.
  • PAUL Burnell has joined ATS Euromaster from AssetCo, to head up the commercial vehicle and national car fleet sales operation as group sales director. Burnell aims to drive business forward and grow sales by improving service and value to customers of all sizes.

  • VANMAKER LDV welcomes a new executive director in manufacturing – Alan Lines. He joins from agricultural and construction equipment manufacturers Case New Holland (CNH), part of Fiat, where he was senior director of global productivity improvement at the firm’s Chicago headquarters. Lines was responsible for setting targets and monitoring manufacturing efficiency and performances in CNH’s 35 factories worldwide. As part of his remit at LDV, Lines will become a member of the board of directors with responsibility for all aspects of LDV manufacturing of the Maxus, Pilot and Convoy range.

  • RENTAL firm 4 Rental has continued its expansion by appointing four regional sales managers and an accounts administrator. John Gayton joins from Lewis Reed Wheel Chair Accessibles, where he was national fleet sales manager. Gayton has held senior fleet positions with several large motor retail groups. His title is regional sales partner Merseyside, Lancashire and Cumbria. Bernard Rooney was previously with MG Rover Group, where he was national broker manager. He has been in the industry for more than 25 years. His position is now regional sales partner Central and West Midlands. Andy Thomas comes from Smith Knight Fay Group and takes up the position of regional sales partner Greater Manchester and the M62 corridor. Sam Gibson, who joins from the IT industry, is now regional sales partner London and South-east. Sharon Wray joins as accounts administrator from IT consultant Colbenson, where she spent 12 years as financial controller.

  • SIMON Martin has joined Siemens VDO Trading Ltd as tachograph key account manager. The new position has been created to help fleets prepare for the transition from analogue tachographs to digital. Martin has been tasked with providing fleets with a single point of contact, giving support on training packages, data download and analysis. Previously, Martin worked as regional manager with Siemens for more than 15 years.
