Tracking aids for 999 staff

KENT ambulance maintenance staff have been kitted out with mobile location and security devices to safeguard their protection while out working alone.

Kent Ambulance NHS Trust has supplied them with Identicom devices from mobile location services firm TrackaPhone.

With 19 ambulance stations located around the county, drivers are regularly sent on jobs where they have to work alone, at all hours of the day and across a number of sites.

The Identicom badge provides a secure, direct link to the trust’s 24-hour control room in case of any trouble. Control room staff can locate each worker at any time and view a chronological record of their movements within any time period.
