UNLESS you run a fleet of vehicles on behalf of governments, the chances are you won’t need an armoured car. But if you do, help is at hand from Jaguar with the launch of its armoured XJ.

With the ability to withstand attacks from guns and bombs, the new addition promises to offer life-saving protection thanks to features such as armoured body panels, bullet-resistant glass, underbody blast protection and run-flat tyres. Prices start at about £200,000, although cars can be built on a bespoke basis depending on the level of protection required.
