THE use of the internet in cross-border fleet business can help save costs and boost customer service, a software expert told delegates at the Fleet News Europe Conference in Brussels.

It offers a low cost of communication, gives empowerment to the customer, removes costing for data inputting and speeds up processes.

Ken Trinder, head of business development at software company epyx, outlined how other industries - such as travel and banking - had improved service to their customers by using the internet.
