THE latest appointments in the fleet industry.

  • RAC Auto Windscreens has recruited Damian Allen to the new role of commercial analyst. He will be responsible for point-of-sale pricing and ensuring that the company remains competitive. Based at the group’s head office in Chesterfield, he will work closely with the account management teams for the fleet and insurance sectors in a bid to deliver added value to contracts and prepositions. Allen, a certified accountant, joins from Ventura, a provider of customer management outsourcing services.

  • ANNIE McCarthy has been appointed director at Essential Risk Consultancy, responsible for all risk consultancy projects. Projects include risk assessment, management and staff training and driver risk assessments. McCarthy has 25 years experience at companies such as LeasePlan, Velo and Alphabet.

  • AUTOMOTIVE services group Inchcape has appointed Will Samuel as non-executive director. Samuel is also vice- chairman of Lazard & Co and non-executive director of the Edinburgh Investment Trust. Prior to joining Inchcape, Samuel held several similar roles. Between 1998 and 2000 he was a director of investment banking group Schroders. He has also worked at Schroder Salomon Smith Barney and European investment bank Citigroup.

  • THE Benfield Motor Group has appointed Daniel McDonald to the new position of trainee accountant, where he will play a pivotal role in managing accounts for the van centre. Before joining the group, McDonald was an architect’s accounts assistant, where he gained accounts handling experience.

  • FLEET management group Tuskerdirect has appointed Mark Smitherman as business development manager for the southern region. Prior to joining Tuskerdirect Smitherman was an account and business development executive at GE Capital Fleet Services. He brings more than six years’ experience gained in the fleet industry but has also spent time in the Middle East working for the finance arm of a motor manufacturer.

  • TONY Noakes has joined RAC Business Solutions as director for RAC Automotive Solutions and RAC Warranty. In the newly-created role, Noakes will be responsible for leading and growing both businesses. His previous job was as head of the RAC Inspections business including RAC Inspected.
