DIGITAL map data company Tele Atlas has announced plans to provide navigation maps for Russia. The company has established a close co-operation with the Roskartographia agency, which is supervised by the Ministry of Transport in Russia.

Moscow maps will become available in April 2005 and St Petersburg in autumn 2005 with other important cities following.

Jack Reinelt, managing director and chief operation officer for Europe of Tele Atlas, said: 'Russia is immense and navigation information is vitally important for drivers there.'
