Safety in leasing

FLEET managers could turn to short-term leasing and ban business journeys in private cars as a way of ensuring employees are in safe, well maintained and properly insured vehicles.

It is a response to an increasing number of staff opting out of company car schemes in favour of cash. Firms are left without the ability to control the maintenance and manage safety, in some cases, if drivers are using the vehicle for business journeys.
