EXECUTIVES choosing Lexus’ proposed hybrid 300bhp GS450h could be paying benefit-in-kind tax on the equivalent banding of a 2.0-litre compact saloon, should it go on sale next year.
Unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, the new GS luxury sport saloon is the world’s first hybrid luxury saloon and the first full hybrid vehicle with a front engine and rear-wheel drive.
Lexus claims sports-car like performance, with 0-60mph in less than six seconds and combined fuel economy more typical of a 2.0-litre four-cylinder compact saloon, with one of the lowest emission ratings in the world.
