Mapminder

MAPAPHONE enables companies to track drivers using a web-based system. The system traces mobile phones by linking to the driver’s network and relaying real-time updates.

Each driver’s mobile must be entered on to an online Mapminder account which is then accessed by the fleet manager.

Locations are then transmitted with an accuracy of up to 100 metres in city locations and three kilometres in rural locations.

The system also has an address finder, route planning and more than 60,000 points of interest.

Fleets can subscribe either monthly or annually with credits being purchased in multiples of 10 to 1,000.

    Vista

WS2’s Vista software tracks a vehicle’s position from a ‘black box’ installed in the vehicle, recording the driver’s speed and the vehicle’s journey via a satellite.

This is relayed through Vista servers and sent to the customer’s web browser, where fleet managers can manage reports and view the vehicle’s position.

The site pinpoints a vehicle’s latest position on a photo image map, showing roads and buildings. There is also a text message service to text the driver a location if they are lost.

The Vista control centre can also be alerted by a panic button in the vehicle if the driver requires help.

    Mileage monitor

EAGLE EYE Mileage Monitor gives a breakdown of business and private mileage automatically using the internet.

This allows fleet managers to track vehicle mileages for contract and maintenance needs and simplifies expense reporting for employees and managers.

Before being able to start the engine, the driver chooses whether the journey is for business or private and the rest is automatic.

Mileage Monitor presents actual business and private miles in the month, preventing misuse or wrongful claims.

    Sentinel Live

SENTINEL Live is aimed at owners of large fleets, enabling companies to track an unlimited number of vehicles simultaneously in real-time.

Using an online system, updated positions are transmitted using satellite technology through hardware fitted to each vehicle.

The group also offers an alternative for smaller fleets – Sentinel. This product uses a PC-based system that asks for vehicle positions periodically. The information is then downloaded to the PC and reviewed at a later date on a map provided by Sentinel. Data from both products can be printed and analysed.
