BUILDING materials distributor Saint-Gobain has renewed a massive fleet order for more than 1,800 vehicles worth £32 million at showroom prices.

The company has ordered more than 850 top-of-the-range Vectras and a similar number of Astras for its fleet in the UK, which comprises more than 2,100 cars.

It has placed an all-diesel order with Vauxhall and the cars are contract-hired over three-years/75,000-miles through contract hire company Lombard Vehicle Management.

The group, known in the UK for its Jewson builders merchant brand, has ordered the new cars for its essential user company car drivers, mostly middle to senior managers.
