    Range Rover Sport

DISCOVERY a bit too slow? Range Rover a bit too unwieldy? Then what you need is the Range Rover Sport, a more driver-focused and smaller version of the RR with similar imposing styling but much better road manners. Supercharged V8 is the first model available, but a V6 diesel is coming which is a bit more real-world. If an X5 or a Cayenne isn’t your cup of tea, form an orderly queue here...

    BMW 320 Cd

TAKE the finest four-cylinder diesel engine in the world, one of the most elegant four-seater convertible shapes, add them together and what have you got? BMW’s latest 3-series offering (although this is the old shape) is an enticing blend of style, performance and economy. Averaging nearly 50mpg means those boulevard cruises won’t be interrupted by too many fuel stops. Even lopping off the roof doesn’t blunt the driving dynamics.
