FLEET NEWSNET this week launches one of its biggest-ever giveaways with an offer worth more than £60,000 to readers. In association with RAC Auto Windscreens, we are giving away 5,000 Safe Cases, designed to keep crime prevention at the front of drivers’ minds when they park.

RAC Auto Windscreens is encouraging company drivers not to leave anything on display in their vehicles with its new Safe Case, a large bag that can be taken away or stowed in the boot, out of sight.

The Safe Case, worth £12.99, is big enough to store the contents of a briefcase. It can easily be locked out of sight in the boot or carried using either the handle or shoulder strap.

To ensure you do not add to the statistics, follow these safety tips recommended by RAC Auto Windscreens and the Home Office:

  • Don’t leave anything on display
  • If you leave valuables in the boot of your car, make sure you put them in at the start of the journey, not when you park your car
  • Always keep your car locked, closing the sunroof and windows
  • Do not leave anything in your car, particularly when it is parked overnight
  • Park in busy or well-lit areas near CCTV cameras or in police-approved car parks (look out for ‘ParkMarkTM’ on signs) if possible
  • While driving, keep doors locked and windows up, especially in slow traffic
  • Never leave car documents or spare keys inside the car

To claim Safe Cases for your drivers, simply email Fleet News on fleetnews@emap.com and put Safe Case in the subject box of the email
Provide your name, company, job title, number of vehicles you run and the number of Safe Cases you need. To receive priority status, please state your reader number which you will find on the plastic bag containing your Fleet News.

Safe Cases will be given away on a first-come-first-served basis.
