A FLEET has shifted from Mercedes-Benz to Skodas and claims it hasn’t had to compromise quality or space.

Llandudno-based King Kabs is replacing its fleet of Mercedes C-class taxis with Skoda Octavias.

King Kabs owner Terry Moorhead said: ‘I spent a lot of time looking into which car would be the best in terms of price, reliability, quality and interior space.

‘I narrowed my list down to five or six cars including some prestige brands and in every category the Octavia was top of the table, so it left me with no choice.’

The taxi company is currently halfway through replacing its fleet of 14 cars and local retailer Slaters Skoda is supplying the fleet of Octavias. All the Octavias are 1.9-litre TDI hatchbacks, in the Classic trim level.
