RAC Software Solutions’ fleet management software Tranman is being used to prepare and manage the fleet of vehicles that will police the G8 Summit next month in Scotland.

The G8 brings together leaders of the world’s largest industrialised nations. Joining Prime Minister Tony Blair at the event will be President Bush and the political leaders of Japan, France, Germany, Canada, Italy and Russia.

The fleet, which could top 1,500 vehicles, will have to be checked for safety purposes and maintained during the event to enable the G8-assigned force to react to any situations or emergencies.

Tranman will be used to monitor the location of the vehicles, manage breakdown and recovery and monitor the cost of running the fleet.
