LATEST appointments in the fleet industry.

  • ALASTAIR Kendrick is joining accountancy firm Deloitte on September 12. He will work with Alison Chapman, Alison Haynes and David Rawlings in the car consultancy group and will be responsible for advising fleets on the best way to fund their company cars and on offering cash alternatives. Kendrick joins from Deloitte from Ernst & Young where he was a director.

  • MIKE Jakeways has joined Bristol and Weston-super-Mare automotive group Carco to lead its light commercial vehicle (LCV) operation. Jakeways joins from Renault Trucks in Bristol where he was dealer principal for the past eight years. He will lead the three-strong sales team of Mark Webb, Dan Cole and Scott Williams. Jakeways said: ‘While we will continue to focus on fleet customers, we are also very keen to support smaller businesses in Bristol and North Somerset.’

  • MOTOR finance provider GMAC Financial Services has appointed Barry Willson as UK brand manager. Willson was previously UK national commercial manager at GMAC and has more than 20 years’ experience within the company gained in several senior sales and marketing roles. Prior to joining GMAC he spent seven years in the Royal Navy. Willson will be responsible for the development of retail finance programmes for General Motors’ network of franchised dealers and for supporting sales of the GM marques in the UK. He will also develop new finance products, advertising, point-of-sale material and the provision of business support services.

  • DAVID Parsons has taken on the Thrifty Car Rental franchise at Gloucester. Parsons is a consultant at business coaching group the Credibility Centre. He will run the Thrifty franchise in addition to his coaching role. Parsons began his career in the precious metals industry before moving into the information technology sector, in which he progressed to become the managing director of two software companies. He has worked at the Credibility Centre since 2001.

  • FLEET solutions group Bynx Europe has appointed Kash Hussain as national sales manager. Hussain will be responsible for selling Bynx Software Solutions to vehicle leasing, fleet management and rental companies in the UK and Europe. He will manage all sales initiatives, marketing campaigns and the public relations strategy. Hussain brings eight years’ experience in business development in roles at Lex Vehicle Leasing, LeasePlan and MG Rover.
