THE Government has been criticised for dropping its Lorry Road User Charging Scheme.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association is demanding an explanation of ‘the complete turnaround’. The Department for Transport said the scheme would be incorporated into a wider national road pricing scheme. It also announced this week that it was making £18 million available to local authorities over the next three years to support road pricing trials.
