Going up

SUPERMINIS

Small cars remain the most sought after with Punto currently enjoying very healthy demand and steady prices. Used stocks are on the low side due to Fiat pulling away from the daily rental market, which has helped in keeping residuals up.

COMPACT MPVS

Compact MPVs are enjoying strong demand at all ages with Zafira climbing to the top of many buyers’ shopping lists over recent weeks. Again, supply is limited and this has helped in keeping values firm. Diesel versions remain the pick of the crop.

LARGE MPVs

Values for large MPVs have been strengthening throughout August and in particular the Ford Galaxy has come back under the spotlight. The trade has been busy sourcing sufficient numbers for September when demand in this sector traditionally improves.

Going down

CONVERTIBLES

The season is coming to an end for convertibles and prices of MX-5 in particular are currently under some seasonal pressure. The imminent arrival of the new version will no doubt add more pressure to values but the price drops so far are orderly.

OLD MODEL A-CLASS

The new model is far superior in every way and is affecting the prices of older versions.

LUXURY SALOONS OVER TWO YEARS OLD

High refurbishment costs are driving down used values of the big saloons.
