KEY appointments in the fleet industry.
CUSTOM Fleet has appointed David Mclachlan as senior fleet sales manager for the south-east and London. Mclachlan will be responsible for new business development and building relationships with corporate customers. His previous industry experience includes 10 years within fleet at Vauxhall.
MALCOLM Draper has been appointed senior systems consultant at dealer management systems specialist Pinewood. He will be responsible for new business sales of the company’s Pinnacle dealer management system in the Midlands, north west, Scotland and Ireland. Draper has considerable experience in the sector, joining Datapoint in 1989 and moving to Lynx Automotive in 1994. In 1998 he joined DCS selling importer solutions and dealer management systems internationally. He became the DCS International sales manager for the Caribbean and the Middle East before moving to Pinewood.
LEE Hall has joined the sales team at rental firm Leaseway. Hall has 15 years’ experience in the vehicle rental industry, working for both Northgate and TLS. His role will be to help develop large national accounts.
PETER Ström has been named as commercial director of GE Commercial Finance, Fleet Services. Taking European responsibility for sales and account management in 11 countries, Ström brings more than 15 years of experience in vehicle finance, lease sales, strategic accounts and building and leading effective sales teams across Europe. Most recently, he was European managing director of Mercedes-Benz CharterWay since 2003. Ström will be based at GE’s Neu-Isenburg’s offices near Frankfurt, Germany, and has been tasked with accelerating growth.
AUTOMOTIVE consultancy MSX International has appointed Stuart Faid as managing director for the UK, Ireland and Nordic region. Faid joined MSX International in June to lead the company’s business development, marketing and strategy functions. He will now assume overall responsibility for UK operations. Prior to joining MSX, Faid was managing director of RL Polk global remarketing. He has also worked for Daimler Chrysler UK and Volkswagen UK.
