PHOTOGRAPHIC evidence should be sent with every speed ticket issued to drivers, campaigners say.

The call comes after a tractor was sent a speeding ticket after being clocked at 85mph – despite the fact it has a top speed of 26mph.

Mid and South Wales Safety Camera Partnership is reported to have admitted that the numberplate of a speeding car had been misread.

Paul Smith, founder of the Safe Speed road safety campaign, said: ‘These errors are far too frequent.

‘It is essential that camera partnerships receive immediate instructions to provide full photographic evidence with each and every ticket so that motorists can check for themselves.’
