Stockholm gets new city toll

STOCKHOLM is to become the latest European city to introduce London-style congestion charging, after city residents voted for such a system in a local referendum following a successful pilot.

A yes vote of 53% backed charges of between €1 to €2.10 when drivers enter Stockholm’s congestion zone on weekdays between 6.30am and 6.29pm.
