CITROËN and Peugeot will join the expanding SUV market next year with two new models.

The Citroen C-Crosser and Peugeot 4007 will go on sale next summer, offering four-wheel drive and a 156bhp HDi turbodiesel engine fitted with a particulate filter to lower emissions.

Both models are built on the same floorplan and will offer seven-seat carrying capability.

The SUV and off-road market is continuing to grow in the UK, with fleet sales in the sector up 5.9% year-to-date. When they go on sale, the C-Crosser and 4007 will go up against rivals such as the Honda CR-V, Nissan X-trail and Land Rover Freelander.
