Tracking costs

CIVIL engineering contractor McPhillips is installing a tracking system across its fleet in a bid to reduce operating costs.

The Trackit Fleet system from BT Redcare Group will allow managers to see where employees are and the group is hoping it will provide more accurate job costing information, reduce unauthorised use of vehicles and improve duty of care.

Gerald Clift, commercial director at McPhillips, said: ‘The civil engineering industry is challenged with maximising asset effectiveness and decreasing costs.’
