Tyre check standard launched

THE International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has launched a new standard designed to maximise the safety benefits of sensors that check tyre pressure and warn drivers when there is a risk of a blow-out.

These occur generally when tyres are under-inflated, something that drivers can easily miss.

The standard ISO 21750:2006 creates overall performance guidelines for tyre pressure monitoring systems.
